Four simple tips – what should be
considered after nasal surgery?
A sinus surgery or a nasal
surgery is a very common surgery nowadays as the sinus problem
has become an epidemic. However, when the surgery takes place, most of the
patients are not sure about what should be considered after nasal surgery. Here are a few tips that are very helpful and must
be taken care of, to make sure that the surgery is successful and healed fast.

Change the bandage:
To avoid any contamination and also to
stop the bleeding, bandage is very important. However, if you are facing
trouble sue to bleeding, then tilting your head backwards is very helpful. In
general also, this is the posture that the patient should continue.

Avoid weight lifting
and nose blowing:
Lifting heavy weight is a reason for
heavy bleeding. To avoid any sort of bleeding, it is better not lift heavy
weight or do any kind or physical exercise. At least up to two weeks post the
nasal surgery, try not to blow your nose.

Sleep with elevation:
As already stated, sleeping in an elevated
posture of the body is very helpful in the healing process. The upper part of
the body should be as much elevated as much possible. In that case, an
arm-chair is a very good choice for keeping the head stress-free. Although it
is not an answer to what should be considered after nasal surgery, but it is very helpful.

Take proper medicines:
All the medicines that the doctor has
prescribed must be taken properly. In case you find something troubling you,
you must consult with the doctor and not be the doctor yourself. Aspirins must
be avoided if the doctor does not permit to keep using it. The doctor will
recommend a saline spray or steroid nasal spray to relieve the discomfort. For
removing the clotted blood and mucus, you might have to face difficulty and
pain, in that case, take pain killers.
Post nasal surgery,
the throat and the mouth becomes very dry. To avoid this, drinking loads of
water and keeping a humidifier in the room where you sleep is very helpful.
